I woke this morning.

I woke this morning filled
with the same fullness
of tight fruit,
ready to burst its skin,
spray its fragrance,
and drop its juice.

I woke this morning as nectar —
sweet, nourishing and desirable,
wanting to be useful and savored.

I woke this morning to love —
let it wash and squeeze and soften me,
teach me strength through surrender.

I woke this morning to light —
let it penetrate all the way through
everything.

I woke this morning to the whisper-touch
of Love’s finger, tracing softly on my face,
making me whole in an instant.

I woke this morning.
