Micro-Gratitude: Lovin’ the small things.

I went for a walk… and really paid attention.

I saw a wild rabbit in a vacant city lot, and was mesmerized by how quickly it chewed.  Those tiny rabbit jaws are like lightning!  And even with all that turbo-speed whizzing in the middle of their face, their eyes’ stay fixed and open.  Those big rabbit eyes are as steady as a brick house.  I was completely fascinated by the quick-still contrast of the rabbit…

…until I saw velvet sapphire swaying in a flower box.  It made me want to sway with it.  Shimmy and flitter.  In cobalt suede floral glory.

I got home and convinced my boyfriend to watch “Lord of the Rings” with me.  I asked him, “Baby, if I built a Hobbit House, would you live in it with me?”

“Hobbit House, igloo, shoe-box” he answered, “I’ll live with you wherever.”

Is there anything, but small things to be thankful for, really?

This is such a lovely post. I felt the love blazing through it clearly — but softly, like a rabbit’s steady gaze. :)

I just came upon your site today, Erika, and I can’t wait to see what you do with your vision. Sounds like my kind of revolution!
